Operating since 1987, St Carthage's has been managing a range of community supports that are responsive to both individual and community needs. Currently managing sixteen services, this organisation aspires to become a highly-regarded, client-focused, professionally delivered service that enriches, empowers and maximises the potential of all people.

About the Opportunities

St Carthage's Community Care now has multiple opportunities available for Community Care Workers (Aged Care) throughout the Tweed, Richmond Valley, Lismore, Casino, Ballina and surrounding villages.

These are part-time positions primarily across a range of Monday to Friday shifts including daytime, evening, and night/sleepover. There are also weekend shifts required.

You will provide specialised support to people in aged care and disability services, including providing clients with flexible opportunities to enhance their independence and facilitating community participation.

St Carthage's is seeking candidates with a Certificate III in Aged Care coupled with a self-motivated attitude, well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and flexibility in both team and individual tasks.

Your understanding of Work Health and Safety, manual handling requirements and food handling procedures is important. You will have the ability to work autonomously and effectively with clients and the families of clients with complex needs.

This role is subject to a Criminal Record Check prior to employment. The successful candidate must be available to work rostered shifts and respond to call outs when required.

Volunteering

Print Me Day2  141201 375There are many reasons why people volunteer. You may be interested in staying active, meeting new people or interested in learning new skills. Whatever your reason, make sure you are doing it for yourself and not because you have to.

St Carthage's Community Care requires volunteers to:

· work with older people at the Senior's Day Clubs

· assist with the maintenance of the garden at the Respite Cottage

· assist people with disabilities in their respite activities

· sit on the Care Services Advisory Board

· assist older people access information technology at our Internet Kiosk.
